Industry–Academia Connect Meeting at T-Hub

An Industry–Academia Connect meeting was organized today by the Commissionerate of Collegiate & Technical Education (CTE), Government of Telangana at T-Hub, Hyderabad. The session brought together industry partners collaborating with Government Polytechnics to deliver industrial training for students and faculty development programs for lecturers.

The primary objective of the meeting was to strengthen the collaboration between industry and academia, ensuring that diploma students receive relevant, high-quality, and industry-aligned training. Representatives from various industries, along with academic stakeholders, actively participated in discussions focused on enhancing the effectiveness of these partnerships.

During the session, Smt. A. Sridevasena, Commissioner of Collegiate & Technical Education proposed establishing formal Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) between CTE and participating industries to ensure structured and sustained collaboration. She also highlighted that the polytechnic curriculum has been recently revised in association with IIT Hyderabad and with support from CII, ensuring alignment with current industry needs.

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) team played a proactive role in facilitating connections between industries and domain experts, further strengthening the ecosystem. The RIT team also participated in the meeting alongside several leading industrial organizations.

The Commissioner emphasized an concern raised by the CTE team regarding the quality of industrial training provided by certain industries, noting that it does not meet the expected standards for diploma students.

Overall, the meeting served as a significant step towards reinforcing industry–academia collaboration, improving training quality, and enhancing the employability of polytechnic students.
